Describes the Japanese landscape which surrounds the restored Japanese Gateway at the botanical gardens in Kew, England. History of Chokushi-mon, the Japanese Gateway; Coordination of the project by the Japanese Organization for Landscape and Urban Greenery Technology; Inspiration drawn from the traditional Japanese tea-garden; Plantings inspired by the natural plant associations of Kyoto.
