This article focuses on the Hakone Gardens, an authentic and historic Japanese garden belonging to the city of Saratoga in California. Topics discussed include the history of the Hakone Garden beginning from its creation by the couple Oliver and Isabel in 1918, and the areas of the garden including the Hill and Pond Garden, the Zen Garden and the Tea Garden. Mentioned also are elements of Japanese gardens that may be observed at Hakone Gardens including lanterns, water basins and gravel paths |
